Scrappy birthday cards

Here are some colorful birthday cards created using scrap strips of various patterned papers. These were fun to make. The only tiny challenge was choosing the ink colors to go with the papers. I made these on the scrapbooking retreat a couple of weekends ago, where I had taken limited inks with me. I found that my dew drop Memento pads yielded close matches for pretty much every paper shown here.

Behind in blogland so just now seeing your "scrappy" cards, and I love them. Great idea mixing the patterned paper and die-cutting shapes and using everything. Super results!

Hi Chris. I stumbled on your blog via Simplicity. Love your cards! They have given me plenty of ideas for using up scraps of paper. Love that. Also, your reorganization of stamps caught my eye. I have been using TH pockets too, have them in a basket. Question for you: do you put the cling mounted stamps inside the pocket? (I have mine mounted to the back of the pocket with the index sheet inside the pocket.) Are the stamps easy to take out of the pocket if you have them inside? Ann in IL

Hi Ann. My TH pockets contain two thing - a sheet of acetate with the stamps clinging to it, and a sheet of cardstock with the stamped images. I place the cardstock on top of the stamps and then slide them together into the pocket, so I don't have any problems with the stamps trying to stick to the inside of the pocket. Hope that helps!
