Unmounted stamp storage

I've had several people ask how I'm storing my unmounted stamps, so here are some photos. This CD rack will hold over 500 CD cases, so I'm nowhere close to filling it up. But look how nicely it disguises the fact that I have in excess of 200 stamp sets! The rack is only 27 inches wide and less than 5 feet high. I still have about 20 Stampin' Up! sets to unmount and then everything will be in this rack. As you can see, I've left my background stamps on their wood mounts for now. There's something satisfying about the way they line up like little books. But you never know - they could end up on EZ Mount as well. There are a few boxes of wheels here, too. I plan to eventually unmount them also. I just don't use them as much in wheel form as I'd like.

Here's a closeup of my stamp labels. The colored labels are for companies. See the green SU! labels and the red "retired" labels? There are a handful of other companies for which I'll be making special labels to make them easier to spot in the rack when I get around to it. The top shelf of SU! stamps contains all of the word-only sets, both current and retired.

Wow, I love your system of organizing your stamps. I have a similar wood CD holder that I'm using for the kids movies--they don't fit that great and I may have to take it from them :-) My stamps are in mesh CD holders right now but since I'm only buying what I love and will keep, I'm going to outgrow it at some point. Thanks for sharing!

You are awesome- thanks for some great tips! I also posted some of these issues on the link you have for SCS forum but wanted to ask you directly, I for some reason have black EZ Mount. Do you think white Stazon will work for this too?

Also here in the close up I see that the stamps look like they have the rubber, original foam and then EZ Mount, how do your cases stay closed? A lot of mine pop open so I was scared of storing side ways in case the CD case popped open and some stamps fell out. Does having the foam on or off affect the image. I find mine that I left foam on are wobbly but I hear it gives a better image... Thanks :)

Storage is a big issue in my household and I must go out and buy something to put away all the souvenirs my wife keeps buying from abroad.
