I like to rearrange my stuff almost as much as I like to use it!

Like many stampers, I'm trying to get more organized in the new year. I plan to move everything to another room soon, so I'm working on getting things that go together, together, and getting little stuff "containerized" better. Here's what I've been working on today. The main goal was to get my punches out of the giant box that they've been piled into for the past few months. I've had the extra CD rack ready and waiting in the garage for just the right moment.

First is the hearth area. We don't ever use the fireplace (why in the world do I need a fireplace in Texas?) so I've got storage shelves up there. This is the before:

And this is the after. I've moved a second small bookshelf into the middle, containing the stamp sets that have not yet been unmounted, plus my ink. I was afraid that the ink wouldn't fit under the mantel, but it was no problem.

Now here's the corner with the tall bookcase. This is holding my ribbon and an embarrassing amount of "alterables" stash. The small bookshelf with my ink WAS here before I moved it, as you can see.

And now, the picture that I was waiting for! Moving the small bookcase made room for the CD rack to hold my punches!

Here's a closeup of the punch rack. Don't you just LOVE it? I think I'm ready for the next 10 catalogs or so if Stampin' Up! keeps on the current pace of two or three new punches per catalog. This picture only shows six of nine "shelves" in the rack. Plenty of room to grow!

Oh I love your punch rack. Was that custom made or something you bought? I would love to have something to better organize mine.

Isn't it nice to get organized! I did a bit of that myself too this past weekend. I love your space! Your CD rack for your punches is a great idea too. Now you can just grab what you want and go! Thanks for sharing your ideas. :)

It's funny how we spend so much time on organizing our "little" addictions right?

Wow, Chris. What a great idea - I wish I had the space for that in my stamp area. And I have to agree... sometimes I love to organize as much as stamp! Okay...almost as much :).

I would think like myself being into yoga a sense of inner calm is important and therefore clutter is bad ! LOL... I love the simplicity and effectiveness of this storage solution- it works for multi purpose... and you could paint any colour to blend in if needed. A few questions if I may, how do you keep the little ones from falling? Do you have a labelling system or way you can tell which hand held punch is which or do you just remember? Great job!

I went searching for punch storage on Saturday and saw your post.....I had this EXACT CD tower in my garage. It didn't sell during the garage sale...THANKFULLY! Now it is in my stamp room with my punches lined up on it! I love this idea!!!!

Thanks so much!

I love your ink storage system. I'm currently using the Stampin' Up ink caddy but not in love with it. What are you using to store your ink pads? It looks like an old cassette tape storage shelf.

I love the CD rack! I've never seen anyone use it for a punch rack, but it's a great idea. If I could easily see my punches, I know I would use them more!
